V is for… Vision and Values

Before starting a new job you should already have an idea of the Company’s vision and values from your interview and research of the company. But once you are through the door it is important to identify the visions and values that your colleagues and your leadership team prioritise and focus one.

Vison and values may feature in your appraisal and your check-ins and how you approach your job generally. However, it is more than this. Identifying the visions and values that you resonate with can help you identify where you fit in and feel more at home.

It can also help you map out your future. Think about where you fit in with the vision and how you can help the company get there.

Action Point: Identify the company values and vision. What is important to them and what can you do to make their job easier?

This blog post is an extract from our upcoming “First 90 Days” prompt journal which is being published later this year. You can pre-order your copy.
