S is for… Socialise

It is important to socialise with others and to get to know them not just talk to people about work. Particularly with those who are within your team as well as your Boss and further afield. Expand your internal network.

How you socialise and when is up to you.

Choose to join in with team events, have lunch with colleagues etc.

Remember: Don’t feel the pressure to attend and do everything. This won’t necessarily help you get a promotion (but avoiding social events completely will not increase your chances at all). So do what you want to do and what you enjoy – particularly if social events are in your personal/free time.
